Once you have a land development plan prepared and approved, the plan can be implemented and the site work for your project can start. It can be difficult at times to visualize how certain parts of the project are supposed to look like after construction or to understand everything that your contractors or engineers are trying to communicate throughout the construction.
This is why it could be a good idea to have some references available that relate to site construction.
The following are two books that I would recommend.
1) Graphic Guide to Site Construction by Rob Thallon and Stan Jones
This guide provides many details that are involved with residential site construction.

2) Construction Terms Simply Defined by Dominique and Greg Nelson
You can use this reference for simple explanations of common construction terms.
